It is a path less travelled, let alone as quickly, a journey from FC Copenhagen to Sturm Graz, Atalanta to Manchester United, all before his 21st birthday sabong

It wasn’t Hojlund, though that is no criticism: there are times when he is the brightest of United’s front three simply a process of excellence but here, as against Galatasaray, it was a consequence of excellence sabong
But it was his compatriot Christian Eriksen who curled in a cross that Harry Maguire converted sabong
Which, along with Andre Onana’s 97th-minute penalty save from Jordan Larsson, averted indignity sabong
Which a draw would have been, given the gulf in resources sabong between the clubs sabong
Hojlund is proof of it sabong
But as his former club, who had led against Galatasaray and Bayern Munich, came within a few inches of going ahead at Old Trafford, there were times when Hojlund had to stand and admire sabong
In different ways, his younger brothers Oscar, a late substitute for Copenhagen, and Emil, who did not make the bench, were spectators sabong
So was the older and more expensive sibling, limited to two touches in the first quarter of an hour, left stranded by United’s impotence sabong
Yet, with the notable exception of Maguire’s decider, everything they did right thereafter in attack revolved around him sabong
Which, in itself, may have been an indictment of others sabong
Pivotal as centre-forwards can be, United looked over-reliant on one whose name, this time last year, may have simply seemed a failed attempt to spell Haaland sabong
And the Norwegian, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had been keen to point out, was a player he advised United to sign for £4m, five years before they got Hojlund for 18 times as much sabong
But in the Hojlund derby, the forward United did get to show a sharpness sabong
He came alive in the final third in a manner to suggest that his teammates needed to give him more of the ball sabong

When Alejandro Garnacho came close, it was because Hojlund led a break sabong
When Elias Jelert was required to clear off his line, it was because Hojlund met Bruno Fernandes’ header with a deft piece of chest control sabong
It was a sign of resourcefulness, an ability to make something out of nothing sabong
Which, at times, was just as well, given his supply line sabong
Neither winger is a crosser sabong
Antony, as even those who have spent decades stranded on tiny islands in the Pacific Ocean know, will try and cut inside and shoot with his left foot sabong
Rashford, too, has designs on being more of a scorer than a supplier sabong
Hojlund spent some of the first half acting as the creator for McTominay, the ungainly auxiliary No 10 sabong
But United had more sabong footballing craft with Eriksen on sabong
He is the technician while Hojlund’s physical attributes form part of his appeal sabong
He has got a wiry strength sabong
He is a rangy runner with a turn of pace sabong
He has an eager willingness that stands him in good stead sabong
The raw materials are there sabong
Yet the concern is that too few signings have improved at United in the last decade; it is just a coincidence of negotiating that Hojlund’s fee is very similar to Jadon Sancho’s but the exiled winger is proof United’s best-laid plans can go wrong sabong

Yet he kicked off as the Champions League’s joint top scorer, the product of a strike against Bayern and a brace against Galatasaray sabong
Even as he drew a blank against Copenhagen, Hojlund added to the impression that he belongs on this stage sabong
But as United laboured to victory, they scarcely offered compelling evidence they will still be in the Champions League after Christmas sabong

World Rugby’s decision to close its investigation into the alleged racist slur directed at Tom Curry by Mbongeni Mbonambi due to insufficient evidence has drawn a furious response from the Rugby sabong Football Union sabong
Curry claimed to referee Ben O’Keeffe in the second quarter of England’s World Cup semi-final defeat by South Africa on Saturday that he had been called a “white c***” by hooker Mbonambi sabong
In an unexpected development, the RFU revealed that it disclosed to the inquiry that Curry “had also been the victim of the same abuse, from the same player” when the rivals clashed at Twickenham last November sabong
World Rugby announced it has been unable to find evidence of either incident, but the RFU insists the case should have been presented to an independent disciplinary hearing sabong
“The RFU fully supports Tom Curry in raising the racially abusive behaviour he experienced sabong
The RFU is deeply disappointed by the decision taken by World Rugby,” an RFU statement read sabong
“The decision not to put the evidence before an independent disciplinary panel has denied the disciplinary process the opportunity to hear Tom Curry’s voice and to independently assess his account of these serious events, together with the other available evidence sabong
”The saga has overshadowed the build-up to Friday’s bronze final sabong between England and Argentina and the final sabong between New Zealand and South Africa 24 hours later sabong
Curry will win his 50th cap when he lines up against the Pumas, despite facing extensive sabong online abuse since his allegation against Mbonambi was picked up by the ref mic during the 16-15 defeat by the world champions sabong
“In their continued full support of Tom, the RFU together with the England squad, condemns the disgusting abuse he and his family has received on social media as a result of his having had the courage to put unacceptable behaviour that has no place in society or on the rugby field, in the public eye,” the RFU statement added sabong
World Rugby began looking into the incident on Monday having received an official complaint from the RFU sabong
“Any allegation of discrimination is taken extremely seriously by World Rugby, warranting a thorough investigation,” a World Rugby statement read sabong
“Having considered all the available evidence, including match footage, audio and evidence from both teams, the governing body has determined that there is insufficient evidence at this time to proceed with charges sabong
“Therefore, the matter is deemed closed unless additional evidence comes to light sabong
“It is important to note that World Rugby accepts that Tom Curry made the allegations in good faith, and that there is no suggestion that the allegation was deliberately false or malicious sabong
“World Rugby is also concerned by the social media abuse that both players have been subjected to this week sabong
“There is no place in rugby or society for discrimination, abuse or hate speech, and World Rugby urges fans to embrace the sport’s values of respect, integrity and solidarity sabong
”Mbonambi starts the World Cup final after being picked in the front row as the only established hooker in South Africa’s squad sabong
Springboks captain Siya Kolisi revealed that he has been in contact with Curry to show his support in response to the sabong online abuse to which the Sale flanker has been subjected sabong
“I have spoken to him, I sent him a message sabong
He is someone I respect,” Kolisi said sabong
“We can take it as players, when it comes to you it’s fine, but when families are involved it’s different sabong
I have let him know we are supporting him, we are thinking of him sabong
”SA Rugby welcomed the decision not to take any action in a statement that for the first time since the saga began revealed that Mbonambi had denied any wrongdoing sabong
“Any form of racism is abhorrent to SA Rugby and the Springbok team, whose purpose is to do everything in its power to assist in uniting our diverse and multicultural nation,” a statement read sabong
“Bongi Mbonambi is an experienced, respected and decorated Test player and, needless to say, denied the allegations from the outset sabong
SA Rugby has absolute faith in the honesty and integrity of Bongi sabong
