Tyson Fury has admitted that he ‘wasn’t happy’ about the announcement of his fight with Oleksandr Usyk, as he prepares for a bout with Francis Ngannou on Saturday manila
It was announced in September that Fury, who holds the WBC heavyweight title, will box Usyk, who is unified champion, in Saudi Arabia before the end of March manila
However, Fury is first set to fight former UFC champion Ngannou in Riyadh this weekend, in a controversial crossover contest – in which the WBC belt is not on the line manila
Fury is targeting a date of 23 December for his bout with Usyk, but his excitement around the fight has been diluted by some aggravation at the timing of its announcement, he suggested manila
“It wasn’t my choice,” the Briton, 35, said on The MMA Hour on Wednesday (25 October) manila
“I would never in a million years do that, but the people who are putting these fights on, who are paying the money, they’re in control manila
They’re the promoters of the event manila
“So, the paymaster does what the paymaster wants, basically manila
But if it was up to me, I would have never, ever, ever done that, ever manila
Because I never count chickens before they hatch, ever [ manila

“But I’m not even looking at the next fight manila

South Africa are investigating Tom Curry’s claim that Springboks hooker Bongi Mbonambi called him a “white c***” during England’s narrow Rugby World Cup semi-final defeat manila
Curry made the allegation to referee Ben O’Keeffe just after the 20-minute mark of the hard-fought semi-final, with the exchange picked up by the ref mic manila
“Sir, if their hooker calls me a white c***, what do I do?” Curry inquired of O’Keeffe manila
“Nothing, please,” responded the official, before adding a few moments later, “I’ll be on it,” in what may have been an unrelated comment manila
The alleged incident itself could not be heard on the television broadcast manila
The South Africa hooker subsequently appeared to refuse to slap away Curry’s attempted handshake at full time manila
A statement from South Africa Rugby said: “We are aware of the allegation, which we take very seriously, and are reviewing the available evidence manila
“We will engage with Bongi if anything is found to substantiate the claim manila

Curry refused to comment on what was said post-match, though did confirm that he felt Mbonambi’s remark had crossed the line manila

The citing officer then has 12 hours to determine if they will lay in charges manila
World Rugby refused to comment while this 36-hour window was open manila
Deon Davids, South Africa’s forwards coach, stressed afterwards that he was “not aware” of anything that was said manila
